GRAND IYD CELEBRATIONS

The ruling Government has always adopted a mixed approach wherein, on one hand it has promoted the introduction of latest scientific advancements in every sector, and on the other hand, necessary efforts were also made to nurture the ancient traditions and customs, which remained ignored by the earlier Governments for the reasons better known to them. This hybrid approach of the Government has helped it a lot in accelerating the developmental pace besides ensuring the welfare of masses across the length and breadth of the country. It is only due to such pragmatic approach of the dispensation that at present the country has not only secured a respectable place in the international forum but is moving ahead to reach the pinnacles of unprecedented growth and development. Yoga is one such ancient heritage of the country, which few years back was almost ignored by the people as there were very few who used to practice this immortal technique for leading a disease-free life. Soon after coming into power, the Government initiated several landmark steps for promoting Yoga, not only in the country but also across the globe. It is only due to the appreciable efforts of the present Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that at present, people not only of India but even from various foreign nations are regularly practicing Yoga to remain happy and healthy. Carrying forward its mission to take Yoga to every person, the Government has decided to celebrate this year’s Yoga day in a different style. As per the reports, this year on International Yoga Day (IYD), which is celebrated on June 21, the Government has selected 76 iconic places across the country, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his team of 75 Union Ministers, including Defence Minister, Home Minister and Finance Minister will lead IYD celebrations. As the Government has always accorded a special treatment to the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, among the 76 selected places, five are from J&K and Ladakh including Suchetgarh in R S Pura sector along International Border with Pakistan in Jammu, Pangong lake near Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China in Ladakh, Dal lake in Srinagar and Martand Sun temple in Anantnag wherein the grand celebrations of the day will be led by Union Ministers of the country.
