Jaipur, Sep 12 (PTI) Rajasthan government is making all and concrete efforts to bring the state top on the tourism map of the world while conserving heritage which has delivered encouraging results, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said.
She said that during the past six months, the number of tourists visited the state was almost 10 per cent more than the tourists visited in the corresponding period of last year.
Raje was addressing the annual meeting of the federation of hotels and restaurants association of India here.
The CM said that her government has taken conservation of historic monuments and places seriously and started work on nine new projects that will also boost the tourism in the state.
She said that the state has immense potential of rural and spiritual tourism and also for employment generation.
Raje said that developing facilities around the tourist places, improvement of connectivity, promotion of fairs and handicrafts were among the priorities of the state government.
Higher Education and Tourism Minister of Karnataka R V Deshpande appreciated the government’s initiatives for the tourism development.
MD and CEO of Yes Bank Rana Kapoor said that the state has demonstrated the potential of tourism and hospitality for?inclusive development, livelihood security and job creation.
“Rajasthan is the crown jewel of India’s tourism industry with its rich history, heritage and culture and has a lot to offer to every tourist setting foot into the country or from within our country,” Kapoor said.
