Govt stands firmly with people, especially border residents: Dy CM

RAJOURI: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, for the second consecutive day, toured around 15 villages in Nowshera constituency to assess the impact of recent cross-border shelling and provide on-ground support to affected residents. The two-day visit aimed to evaluate the damage, interact with impacted families, and resolve public grievances directly.

The Dy CM inspected damaged houses, met with distressed families, and assured them of the government’s unwavering support and commitment to their safety and well-being.At multiple public outreach camps, the Dy CM emphasized that the safety of residents living near the LoC remains a top priority. “All possible measures are being implemented to protect our people,” he stated.Local delegations raised issues including the need for individual and community bunkers, compensation for losses, water scarcity, unscheduled power cuts, and poor road conditions. Choudhary responded promptly, directing officials to act immediately and assured that genuine concerns would be addressed in a phased, time-bound manner.Highlighting the government’s long-term plans, he announced the construction of additional bunkers at strategic locations as part of enhanced border safety infrastructure.Reiterating the Omar Abdullah-led government’s commitment to the holistic development of J&K’s border regions, Choudhary vowed to leave no stone unturned for the welfare of its people.He was accompanied by ADC Nowshera Pritam Lal Thapa and senior district officials.
