JAMMU: All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) on Friday demanded that all power utilities of State should be integrated as unbundling experiment has miserably failed.
AIPEF also demanded that all power purchase agreements with IPP’s be reviewed and National Electricity Policy and Tariff Policy be modified to facilitate addition of green power while at the same time giving adequate protection to State power utilities adverse consequences of stranded thermal power station assets. AIPEF executive meeting was held today at Jammu and was attended by office bearers from more than 16 state constituents. The meeting was addressed by Padamjit Singh Chief Patron, Shaliendra Dubey Chairman, Rathnakar Rao Secretary General, K Ashok Rao, Sunil Jagtap, Suryakant Pawar, G.S Bhadauria, Sunil Sood, Prashant Pattanaik, N.R Ray, V.K.S Parihar, Rajesh Srivastava, Rajeev Singh, Sanjay Thakur, K Appraswamy, B.L Yadav, Prashant Chaturvedi, B.R Mishra, Pirzada Hidayatulia, Neeraj Sharma and delegates from other states.
AIPEF expressed its concern towards apathetic attitude of J and K Govt and Power Department regarding resolution of long pending genuine demands of power engineers mainly assured career progression (Time Bound Promotion) not yet implemented even after repeated assurances of Govt, timely promotion, confirmation and regularisation at every level. AIPEF showed its utter dismay on the situation prevailing in which senior most power engineers like DCP, CEs, SEs and EEs are forced to work and retire in lower pay scales eg AEE, AE and JE despite the fact that J and K engineers are working under extremely tough conditions.
No DPC conducted for the last two decades shows the apathetic attitude of government, AIPEF member said and demanded restructuring of Power Department based on number of consumers for better power supply.
