‘Govt should check violation of labour laws’

JAMMU: National Human Rights (Social Justice Council), J and K, appealed to government to take effective steps on war footing basis to mitigate the sufferings of working class.

“Avoid violation of labour laws in J and K to give proper attention to the interest of un-organised working sector,” Executive Director NHR (SJC), M.I Zargar said.

Talking to reporters, he also appealed to the government to provide grants for the labour class to build their houses, implement pension scheme, education grant to their children and disabled persons, waive off arrears of their power bills,  increase grant in aid under the MGNREGA Scheme, provide job avenues for labours, social security cover for the labour, skill development settlement of the beneficiaries schemes under the Public Service Guarantee Act, declaration of the Technical Education sector/skill development programme etc.

He termed new recruitment policy of government as an attempt to spoil the future of the youth of the State.

He also demanded regularization of PHE, ITI trained workers and relief and rehabilitation should be provided to all victimized farmers and flood victims.

Girish Raizada (General Secretary), Manik Magotra (Secretary), Vinod Parmoo (Joint Secretary), Sudhir Katyal (Press Secretary), Raman Singh (CIO), Manoj Gupta (Chief Coordinator), Raja Mohd. Yousuf (Organizing Secretary), Sohan Lal (District Officer) and Sham Lal (State Organizer) were also present.
