JAMMU: The government on Wednesday said 84 road projects have been sanctioned in Doda and Ramban districts during the current fiscal including 49 projects under PMGSY Phase-10, eight under NABARD and 27 under district plan. The information was given by Minister for R&B and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri, while responding to a question raised by Sham Lal Bhagat on the floor of the Upper House. He further said that construction of road from Damtop to Kundichill Bagla Phase-1 upto Kund was taken up under NABARD RIDF XII for a length of 6 Km at an estimated cost of Rs 3.45 crore. The Minister said regarding connectivity to Kurwas/Topneel, the same would be considered under PMGSY subject to guidelines. The habitation Shamthi stands connected through road from BB Rajgarh to Shamthi under PMGSY, the Minster said, adding that the road from block boundary Bhagwah to Barsi has been included in the revised Core Network for left-out habitations. He further informed that there are 1,171 habitations in the State including 176 habitations in Chenab valley which have been inadvertently missing/left-out in the original/core network. The matter has already been taken up with the Union Ministry of Rural Development for incorporation of these habitations in the core network of PMGSY, he added. Firdous Ahmad Tak and Vibodh Gupta also raised supplementary questions on the floor of the House.
