Govt should review SRO 123, exempt private schools from SRO 740: PSA

JAMMU: Private School Association (PSA) of Jammu District asked the State Government to review SRO 123 and exempt private schools from SRO 740. In a meeting chaired by the chairmanship of Prof. Jia Lal Kotwal, representatives of different Zones of Private School Association Jammu District highlighted their problems regarding obtaining NoCs from different departments, delay in re-imbursement of CPF and induction of detention policy in the State.
The stakeholders expressed their deep concern about the State Government which is giving step motherly treatment and harassing the such schools, which creates hurdles in then smooth functioning of private schools.
President of the Association, Kamal Gupta briefed about the nuisance created in the entire education system by the current government.
He thanked the High Court of J and K for acting judiciously in favour of education system from time to time, by granting stay in favour of private schools and issuing guidelines to the State Government. All the members present unanimously appealed for the review of SRO 123, exemption of private schools from SRO 740 and simplification of the affiliation and recognition process. They also demanded involvement of stakeholders, while drafting any policy pertaining to education system.
The prominent members who attended the meeting were B.D Raina (Vice-President), Ajay Gupta (General Secretary), Ajay Singh, Sudeshwar Salhotra, Sat Pal Mansotra, Sanjeev Luthra, Lal Chand, Sham Singh, Kiran Raina, Madan Lal, Ram Parkash, Vivek Chauhan and Chain Singh.
