JAMMU: An organisation working for Kashmiri Pandits on Saturday accused the Jammu and Kashmir Government for playing politics over the return of Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) in the Kashmir Valley.
“A new wave of rising militancy and turbulence in Kashmir Valley and the return of Kashmiri Pandits simultaneously is not acceptable,” member Advisory Board of Youth All India Kashmiri Samai (YAIKS) Shuban Krishan Koul told reporters here on Saturday.
“We are happy while seeing the debates internally and nationally for the return of Kashmiri Pandits as some people seem to be eager to return to their mother land,” he said adding that in 2010 YAIKS started the move of return on ground and got succeeded by sending some 1,800 youth of the community to Valley.
But unfortunately at that time some vested and self styled persons started dictates against YAIKS and its young leadership, he said adding that they were only trying to suppress the youth leadership and their growth in the field of social activism, who are practically involved in ground and grass root level with the common masses of displaced community.
“YAIKS never said employment is linked with return of Pandits it was the matter of survival only. The unemployed youth made their livelihood and thousands of others are eager to join in Valley,” he said and appealed to the community in general and its youth in particular to strengthen the YAIKS.
KP youths are suffering every day and moment due to the negligence of government which has failed to fulfill their commitments and promises.
He said YAIKS, which is spearheading a movement on the employment issue, will ensure that jobs are provided to 6,000 youths as promised in the Prime Minister’s package.
Dawarika Nath Bhat, Mohan Lal Pandita, S.D Koul, Kanya Lal Bhat, Pushkar Nath Pandita, Bhushan Lal Bhat and Omkar Nath Dhar were also present in a press conference.
