Govt failed to provide ration, sugar: Congress

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Congress has lashed out at the Coalition Government for its failure to maintain the supply of ration on regular basis as per scale as the common and poor people continue to suffer in the State. In a statement issued here on Monday, PCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that there are false claims in the media by the government over the availability of ration on the ration depots while the situation is contrary to the claims of the government.
“The people of most parts complain of non-availability of ration on ration depots as per scale fixed by the government for different categories. The people are not getting regularly the monthly quota of sugar and Atta/ wheat for months together, while the government continues to make tall claims in the media,” he said. “Despite unprecedented hike in the rates of Atta and rice reducing the scale of sugar from 700 to 500 grams per family the government has utterly failed to provide the basic and most essential supply of ration and K Oil in the PDS in the State especially in most parts of Jammu province, while situation is worst in the rural areas,” Sharma added.
