Govt discriminated Ladakh in budget: Karbalai

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Member Assembly Kargil, Asgar Karabali, while accusing government, said that it has again discriminated Ladakh region in the current budget which was presented by Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu in the Assembly.
He said, “Only three lines in the State can’t give equal rights to the people of Ladakh,”
He further added that the ‘name of Ladakh’ has not written in the entire budget while the government has taken many issues of Jammu and Kashmir province but Ladakh has been again deleted. Karbalai said, “The government is likely to take many initiatives for apple and rice and wheat production while as the there is nothing for apricot and barley in the budge although the government has announced apricot village last year”. MLA Kargil also discussed the issue of special duty allowance and casual labourers which has been delayed and termed it ‘delayed means deprived’.
Citing vision of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Karbalai asked government “is this was the vision in which government will openly ignore Ladakh’. Speaking about the helicopter service which was earlier announced by late Mufti Sayeed and recently announced by the Chief Minister herself self that from Drass, Kargil and Zanaskar there will be helicopter service but for that too government has not kept anything in the budget. It’s pertinent to mention here that the deprivation of Ladakh region in the current Assembly budget will give wrong signal to the people about the government and create trust deficit.
