Govt constitutes panel for DigitalCommunication Readiness Index

JAMMU: The government on Friday constituted committee for Digital Communication Readiness Index (DCRI).
“Sanction is accorded to constitution of Interdepartmental Coordination Committee (IDCC) for recommending policy reforms for implementing Digital Communication Readiness Index (DCRI) in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” reda an order issued by Sanjeev Verma, Commissioner/Secretary, General Administration Department.
As per order, the committee will be headed by Chief Secretary, J&K as its Chairman while Chief Executive Officer, JaKeGA-lnformation Technology Department as Member Convener and Members of the committee include Principal Secretary, Department of Forest, Ecology & Environment; Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department; Principal Secretary, Power Development Department; Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department; Principal Secretary, School Education Department; Commissioner/Secretary, Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj; Commissioner/Secretary, Information Technology Department; Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department; and Representative of Department of Telecommunication, Government of India (Not below the rank of Director LSA, J&K); and Any officer/official/expert to be co-opted as Special Invitee with the approval of Chairman.
The terms of reference if the committee is to start preparatory exercise and undertake initiatives for implementing Digital Communication Readiness Index (DCRI) framework and recommend policy reforms in the UT of J&K and to conduct quarterly review of progress on the implementation of DCRI framework.
