Govt committed to provide better road connectivity: Kohli

RAJOURI: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli said that the government is committed to provide better connectivity to the people of State for which a network of roads is put in place in all inaccessible areas of the State.

The minister said this while addressing a large public gathering at village Androla in Kalakote constituency on Saturday. The minister said several initiatives have been taken up to provide road connectivity to the people of the State especially in inaccessible areas and sufficient funds have been earmarked for the purpose. He said the government has also initiated several measures for providing irrigation facilities to the people of the area.

Minister said that the present dispensation has taken some prestigious road projects in hand for which Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) have been prepared and submitted to the Government of India for accord of necessary grants. He said various road projects worth crores of rupees have been sanctioned under PMGSY in the State and the construction work on these road projects are apace. He said these roads will shrink the distances and will ultimately help to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people of the State.

Kohli said that the directions have already been given to executing agencies to expedite the pace of work on all ongoing developmental works and complete them in a time bound manner.
