Govt allocates districts to ministers

JAMMU: The Government on Monday allocated districts to Ministers to enhance coordination, ensure effective implementation of development programmes and to closely monitor public services.
As per GAD order, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister, will oversee Jammu, Poonch, Anantnag, Shopian districts; Sakeena Masood (Itoo), Minister for Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education, and Social Welfare will look after Kupwara, Srinagar, Kathua and Samba districts; Javed Ahmed Rana, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs will handle Doda, Rajouri, Pulwama and Baramulla districts; Javid Ahmad Dar, Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Election, will monitor Ganderbal, Budgam, Kishtwar and Ramban; and Satish Sharma, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science & Technology, Youth Services & Sports, will oversee Reasi, Udhampur, Kulgam and Bandipora districts.
The district allocation is aimed at streamlining governance and accelerating the implementation of key government initiatives across Jammu and Kashmir.
