JAMMU: Sunil Dimple president Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) led a strong protest rally against the Governor’s address in the Assembly, in which Governor N. N. Vohra batted for early resumption of the Indo-Pak dialogue as desired by the BJP- PDP Government and the Hurriyat leaders to end the Kashmir unrest.
The annoyed protesters burned the copies of the Governor’s address for supporting Indo-Pak dialogue. They also burned Pakistani flags.
Addressing the protestors Sunil Dimple alleged that the Governor N. N Vohra’s address in the Assembly badly disappointed the people of the Jammu region; moreover, the address was totally Kashmir centric. He said the Governor address endorsed the agenda of the BJP-PDP Government and desired by the separatist Hurriyat leaders to start the Indo-Pak dialogue.
Dimple further said the Governor’s speech badly disappointed the nationalist forces of the State and the security forces who are combating militancy by sacrificing their lives for the protection of the mother-land in Kashmir Valley and to end the five months old Pakistan sponsored Kashmir unrest after the killing of the Pakistan militant Burhan Wani. Dimple said the Governor did not include in his address that civilians have been killed in Pakistan mortar shelling in border areas.
The address did not mention the LoC border people leading miserable lives and the PDP- BJP government has failed to take care of the border migrants.
Dimple further said that nothing was mentioned in Governor’s address about the permanent settlement of the PoK refugees and implementing the Delimitation Commission to end the discrimination with the Jammu region. He demanded the Governor to recommend for imposition of Governor’s rule in Jammu Kashmir State as PDP- BJP Coalition Government has badly failed to address the issues of general bublic. He also demanded raising issues like Gilgit, Balochistan and PoK. The protestors included Sham Saroop Gupta, Harbans Tondon, Madan Lal, Dev Raj, Ram Kapoor, Vijay Khjuria, D N Magotra, Kulwant Sharma, Vicky, Mukesh, Vipan, Ashok Khna, Golu Singh, Babu, Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Rakesh.
