Governor Address, State Budget largely promote PDP agenda: Harsh

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Pointing towards the repeated references to strengthening of special status of J and K in the ‘Governor’s Address’ as well as in the State Budget, Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP and former Minister, lambasted the BJP for jettisoning its kernel philosophy and promoting PDP agenda merely for sake of power.
He said that whereas the ‘Governor’s Address’ finalised by BJP-PDP Government unambiguously and unequivocally talked of preserving the special status, the State Budget presented yesterday also didn’t fail to make a mention of the need of governance under the separate constitution of J and K State.
Questioning the need for repeated references to the special powers of the State, Harsh regretted that BJP was perhaps trying to assure and re-assure its partner that it had given up on its pre-election slogans and that it fully endorsed the philosophy of PDP and Kashmir centric agenda so long as it was allowed to continue as a junior partner in the State Government.
Asserting that Governor’s Address and the budget were the two major policy documents of any government, he elaborated that the said documents defined the basic policies and programmes besides enunciating a road map for the future. He said that while the excerpts from PDP’s election manifesto were largely incorporated in the said documents, the election promises of BJP failed to find any mention therein to the utter chagrin and disappointment of their electorates.
