JAMMU: Mathematics Department of Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu in collaboration with Science Club organised intra-college Mathematics quiz competition on Saturday.
Principal of the College, Dr. Kiran Bakshi was the Chief Guest who was welcomed by Dr. Anupama Gupta, HoD, Department of Mathematics.
Dr. Bakshi appreciated the initiative of Mathematics Department for conducting the successful quiz and laid stress upon the skill of learning the calculation that makes the life of the students well managed and coordinated.
Mathematics is the back bone of acquiring managerial skills and all the activities of life are related to the computation and calculation, she added.
There were five teams of five students each, named after the women mathematicians who contributed in this field. Christline Ladd Franklin emerged out as the winner team. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Anupama Gupta and Prof. Anita Sharma.
