Srinagar: General Officer Commanding of Srinagar-based 15 Corps Lt Gen Subrata Saha on Wednesday called on Governor N.N Vohra here and briefed him about the security situation near the Line of Control (LoC) and in the hinterland.
“Lt Gen Saha called on the Governor at the Raj Bhavan and held an hour-long meeting with him. He briefed the Governor about certain and recent incidents along the LoC and in the hinterland,” an official spokesman said.
Army recently foiled a major infiltration attempt by eliminating four militants in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara District, while there has been spurt in attacks on telecom service providers in north and central Kashmir, leaving two persons dead and badly disrupting the mobile phone services.
Last evening, the Governor held a detailed discussion with Director General of J-K Police K Rajendra Kumar regarding attacks on the telecom service providers, the spokesman said.
He said the Governor would also be discussing important matters with the Chief Minister when he meets him later in the day, as per the schedule of the latter’s periodic discussions with the Governor.
