JAMMU: Guru Nanak Club (GNC) Nanak Nagar, Zorawar Club, Satwari and Sithu Club, Simbal Camp won their respective matches to strengthen their position in the league round of the ongoing Jammu District Hockey Championship, organised by Hockey Jammu and Kashmir at K K Hakku Stadium, here on Saturday.
In the first match, the GNC blanked Bhag Bhain Club, Gole Gujral 6-0. Gagandeep Singh, Simranjeet Singh and Gurpreet Singh scored two goals each.
Zorawar Club also made a 4-1 win against Young Star Simbal Camp, courtesy Harsh Vaid, who struck all the four goals thereby hitting first hat-trick of the tournament. Prabhjot Singh reduced the margin for Young Star.
In another match, Sithu Club defeated Shahid Bhagat Singh Club 4-0. Roshan Kumar and Manmeet Singh added two goals each.
Today’s matches were officiated by the technical panel comprising J.S Bali, Amarjeet Singh, Jaspreet Singh, J.S Reen, Charanjeet Singh, Joginder Singh and MS Reen.
Earlier, the teams, played in today’s matches, interacted with special guests, Treasurer Hockey India, Rajinder Singh, General Secretary Hockey J and K, Romal Singh, Vice-President, Jaswant Singh and Resident Secretary, M.S Reen as also B.K Bhat and Vijay Vaid.
