GMC junior doctors seek stern action against Dr Bhupesh

 STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Hundreds of junior doctors on Friday staged protest against Government Medical College and Hospital authorities for failing to initiate action against the Head of Department (HoD) of Forensic Medicine of Government Medical College, Dr. Bhupesh Khajuria.
Pertinent to mention here, that Dr. Bhupesh Khajuria was booked under FIR 198/16 under Section 354 CrPC with immediate arrest for molesting a MBBS final year student. However, the accused doctor is undergoing treatment for hyper tension at the hospital.
The protesting junior doctors assembled in front of OPD raised slogans against the GMC administration seeking stern action against Dr Bhupesh.
The medical students said that the five-member committee framed by the GMC administration to ascertain the facts had not taken any action against the accused doctor. They alleged that the GMC administration was shielding the doctor.
They alleged that Dr Bhupesh has been successful in manipulating the higher authorities and has been admitted in the ICU faking fits, in order to escape arrest. They said that the ICU facilities are there for critically-ill patients but he has been admitted there on flimsy grounds.
The junior doctors demanded that the accused doctor be discharged from the ICU, his general condition being satisfactory and he should be arrested for the heinous crime.
The junior doctors warned that if GMC administration fails to take action against Dr Bhupesh then they will launch mass protest against the administration.
