JAMMU: Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu under the banner of Medical Education unit conducted CME for fresher postgraduate students.
On the occasion, Associate Professor PSM, Dr Rakesh Behal delivered a lecture on communication skills, attitude and behaviour while dealing with the patients and attendants.
Principal and Dean GMC Jammu, Dr Sunanda Raina, in her address, said that every patient who visit hospital needs care and compassion, and doctors are duty bound to ensure that no patient feels dejected or ignored.
She said patients also should maintain the decorum of the hospital and should cooperate with the staff and maintain cleanliness. She said Minister of Health and Medical Education has taken many steps not only for the welfare of patients and but also for the doctors as well.
HoD Blood Bank told new postgraduate students about national guidelines and various standard operating procedures to be adopted while handing over blood and blood products to patients demanding them for medical reasons.
Various faculty members, demonstrators, registrar and postgraduate students attended the programme.
Professor of Ophthalmology and Chairman Medical Education unit, Dr Ashok Sharma moderated the proceedings of the programme.
