HIRANAGAR: Women Counseling Cell, Equal Opportunity Cell and GSCASH Committee of GLDM Degree College Hiranagar under the aegis of IQAC organized a seminar on Gender Sensitisation. The objective of the programme was to ensure gender sensitisation of the students with respect to the burning issues rated to gender equality.
The resource person of the event was Seema Shekhar Khajooria Advocate General of J&K High Court &K and Ladhakh. She started her lecture with the objectives of the preamble of Indian constitution. She talked about various issues related to gender sensitisation and motivated them to live their life without any prejudice and bias related to gender. She also discussed about Bhanwari case of Rajasthan. She also shared her personal experience with the students.
The principal Dr. Pragya Khanna appreciated the efforts of the Team.Other speakers were Dr. Davinder kour Convenor of the Equal Opportunity Cell, Member secretary IQAC. Dr. Rajesh Sharma HOD Maths ,Dr. Preeti Verma Assistant Professor in Physics The event started with the welcome address by Dr. Preeti Verma Assistant Professor, Department of Physics . This program attended by more than 100 students. The seminar was successfully conducted by the organizing team, The seminar ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Kiran Thapa Assistant Professor, Department of Education. Others who were present Prof Anju Rani, Prof Nidhi Jarngal, Dr.Neeru Devi Anand Prof .Chinky Sangral.
