Girl student stabbed; attacker flees

RAJOURI: In a brutal incident, a 15-year girl student of the border Rajouri town was on Tuesday stabbed while travelling in a 10-seater auto. She has got deep cut on her face and is undergoing treatment in a local hospital.
Razia, daughter of Shamas Din, Principal Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Panad, a Class 10 student of Himalayan Education Mission, Rajouri, was going to her home in Jawahar Nagar locality when a youth stabbed her with a sharp edged weapon and managed to flee.
“The shocked co-passengers could not over power him as the accused was holding a knife”, police said.
The victim Razia was immediately shifted to District Hospital Rajouri where doctors operated upon her face. The wound was so severe that she received 20 stitches, doctors informed the police.
Co-passengers told the police that the boy was asking for her mobile number, which she refused. In a fit of rage, he attacked the girl and fled away from the scene.
Rajouri police has launched a manhunt to trace out the accused, who is reportedly a resident of Manhas Mohalla.
This is a second incident in the past six months wherein a girl has been subjected to brutal attack. On 13th November, a college girl was stabbed to death by a local youth in the same township. The boy, Ashish Kumar of Muradpur, travelling in same matador, stabbed her as a consequence of which she died on the spot.
