GHSS Poonch girls win U-17 volleyball title

POONCH:  Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Poonch clinched the girls’ under-17 volleyball title after they beat Government High School Ajote in the final of inter-school tournament, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Sports Stadium, here on Tuesday.

However, High School Ajote won the girls under-14 kho-kho trophy outplaying Guru Harkrishan Public School in the final.  The kho-kho under-17 girls’ final also won by High School Ajote outplaying GHSS Poonch.

Meanwhile, the under-17 girls’ kabaddi title was bagged by High School Karmarha, who beat GHSS Poonch in the final. Similarly, the under-14 girls’ kabaddi trophy secured by Middle School Ajote, who beat Middle school Purani Pooch.

In the finals and prize distribution function, Principal of Boys HSS, Kirat Singh, ZPEO Pooch, Tej Kour and ZPEO Surankote, Jasbir Kour were present, who appreciated the winners and runners-up teams.

The tournament was conducted under the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sport Officer Poonch, Ayaz Ahmed Khan and ZPEO, Mohd Qasin.
