Ghani clinches Bamyal Kesri title

JAMMU: Wrestler Abdul Ghani of Mallerkotla Punjab won the 111th Bamyal Kesari title held at Bamyal near Nagrota Jammu by defeating Sunny of Hoshiarpur.
The Dangal was organised by Bamyal Dangal Committee in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of its President Shiv Kumar Sharma besides Dangal Committee President Sarpanch Ram Singh, Manzoor Hussain, Kartar Chand, Bashir Ahmed, Dr. Joginder Kumar, Sher Singh, Farooq Mohammad and Mohammad Fareed were also present.
Bahujan Samaj Party State General Secretary, Rakesh Wazir was the Chief Guest who gave away the cash prize of Rs.25,000 to the winner of the competition and Rs. 16,000 to the runner up wrestler in presence of Shiv Kumar Sharma, who presided over the function, Ram Paul Sharma and members of Dangal Committee.
The second main bout was won by Farooq of Sarore by defeating Palla of Himachal Pardesh and winner got cash prize of Rs. 9,000.The third bout was won by Amir Khan of Nargara by defeating Deepa of Hoshiarpur. The fourth bout was won by Bobri of Sarore by defeating Raj Kumar of Delhi. The fifth bout was won by Roshan Lal of J and K Police by defeating Akram of Bajrangi Akhara. In total 45 bouts were played in wrestling event. Mohammad Fareed conducted the proceedings of the function.
Rakesh Wazir complimented Dangal Committee for successful conduct of the Dangal and elaborated that games is the only way by which we can keep ourselves fit besides keep our new generations away from the nuisance of bad habits including drugs etc.
He further asked the authorities that keeping in view the historic value of the Bamyal Road, which connects it to Katra, it be completed at the earliest by making a small bridge near Bamyal which will connect this whole area to Katra and besides reviving the years old traditional route to Katra which was taken once upon a time by all great personalities for reaching to Mata Vaishno Devi including great emperors and would open this whole area including Mathwar, Showa Mata etc for religious pilgrimage and more than one crore pilgrims coming to Vaishnodevi ji can be diverted to these areas. He further said that this small initiative will create new horizons of employment for all these people.
President Dangal Committee Ram Singh and Manzoor Hussain thanked the people for making the Dangal a grand success.
Prominent among others present on the occasion include Serpanch Rehmat Ali, Serpanch Mumtaz Ali, Bittu Raina,Sat Paul,Bagh Hussain, Ghulam Mohd., Mohd.Din, Kamal Singh, Randeep Singh, Ghulam Mustafa and Rattan Lal.
