GGHS Kootah wins kho-kho, Hiranagar Kabaddi title

HIRANAGAR: Government Girls High School (GGHS) Kootah won under-17 girls kho kho title by defeating Government Higher Secondary School Chakra in the ongoing Inter-School Zone Level Tournament, organised by Department of Sports Services and Youth at Sports Stadium Hiranagar.
The tournament is being held under the directions of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kathua Subash Chander Bhardwaj and supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer Hiranagar, Yog Raj Sharma.
In the kho-kho final, GGHS Kootah and Government Higher Secondary School Chakra teams reached at tie and extra time was given to teams.
Thereafter GGHS Kootah registered victory with one point.
Earlier in semifinal matches, GGHS Kootah trounced Government High School Chadwal by six points and
Government Higher Secondary School Chakra blanked Government High School Hiranagar by one point.
A total of 114 players of 12 schools of Hiranagar Zone participated in the today’s event which was declared open by Zonal Education Officer Hiranagar Bhagwan Das Sharma in the presence of Zonal Education Planning Officer, Kishori Lal.
Meanwhile, Government Girls High School Marheen defeated Government Higher Secondary School Chakra in final of volleyball by 2-1 sets.
In Kabaddi U-17 Girls final, GGHS Hiranagar trounced GGHS Kootah by 17 points. Earlier, GGHS Hiranagar outplayed Government Higher Secondary School Chakra by 10 points and GGHS Kootah defeated played Government High School Chadwal by 11 points in semifinal matches.
