Dear Editor,
Justifications have been advanced for a recent visit to China of a 14-member delegation led by BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh.
Prima facie, nothing is common between the BJP and the Communist Party of China. While the BJP is a democratic party, the CPC is dictatorial. All democratic parties, including the BJP, are committed to a change of Government via the ballot box, an independent judiciary, the freedom of speech to every citizen, a free press, and so on. What is the ground reality in China?
Ideology apart, what is China’s stand vis-à-vis its neighbours? A mention in the article was made regarding China’s isolation. The blame falls on that country because of its aggressiveness and its policies towards its neighbours. I am of the opinion that India, for one, should never rescue China from its present predicament, especially when the latter is encouraging Pakistan in every way to harm India.
