GDC Kathua bags five medals in boxing

KATHUA: In the Inter-collegiate Boxing Championship organised by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, Government Degree College Kathua emerged excellent by bagging three gold, one silver and one bronze medals and earning overall 19 points. Abhinaydeep Sharma of B.A Sem-III in 64-69 Kg won gold medal, Muhammad Sultan of B.A-Sem-V in 75-81 Kg won gold and Ishant Sharma of B.B.A Sem III in 81-89 Kg won gold, Sameer Mathur of B.A.Sem-III in 91Kg won silver and Rahul Verma of B.Sc. Sem-III won bronze medal in 60-75 Kg, Radha Sham of B.A.Sem-III , Jasvinder Singh of B.Sc Sem-III, Munish Sharma of B.ScIII.year and Akhil Sharma of B.Sc.Sem-I participated in different categories respectively. Principal, Dr. Nater Singh congratulated the winning team members and appreciated their efforts in bringing a great honour to the college. He also mentioned about the enthusiastic approach of the Physical Director Dr. Balbinder Singh, Assistant Physical Director Sheetal Rajput and Team-in-charge Prof. Anil Sharma for providing better facilities and training to the members of the winning team.
