BISHNAH: Government Degree College (GDC), Bishnah organised a symposium on ‘Role of Youth in Quami Ekta’ under the supervision of Dr. Suman Charak, NSS Programme Officer and Convenership of Dr. Rupinder Kour.
The proceedings of the programme were initiated by Dr. Suman Charak.
Earlier, Principal of the College, Prof. Kalpana Kesar welcomed Mohammad Sayeed, Tehsildar Bishnah who was Chief Guest on the occasion.
The programme began with lighting of the traditional lamp by the dignitaries and staff.
Dr. Suman Charak introduced the various events to be undertaken during the programme and honoured Pooja Devi for giving excellent performance in NSS NIC Sonipat. Further, Monika Kaith initiated the proceedings.
More than 100 volunteers participated in National Integration Pledge and Community song Hind Desh Ke Nivasi. Eight volunteers participated in the symposium who highlighted the role of the youth to maintain Quami Ekta.
Monika Kaith, Renu and Avilash were adjudged first, second and third respectively by panel of judges comprising Prof. Archana Bakshi, Dr. Alka Sharma and Dr. Seema Jamwal.
Mohammad Sayeed encouraged the volunteers to march ahead with the slogans of communal harmony and national integration and also generated awareness among the volunteers regarding constitutional rights and duties and SVEEP 2014.
Prof. Kalpana Kesar highlighted the fact that despite being a multi-lingual, multi-cultural and multi-religion Nation ‘India’ is one.
