GCE organises talent hunt events under SVEEP campaign

JAMMU: To impart awareness among voters for their mass participation in the State Assembly Elections under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, Government College of Education (GCE), Jammu, organised a series of gala events in the college which started on 15th December, 2014 and concluded here on Friday, just a day before Assembly polls.
The main objective of the event was to ensure ‘Sat Pratishat’ participation of voters in the Assembly elections and giving a platform to the college students to promote their hidden talents and enriching their cultural ethics by means of colourful activities.
On the occasion, Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Ajeet Angral was the Chief Guest, who is inspirational force behind conducting such meaningful activities in the college spreading a message of harmony and unity among the students.
The reception committee of the different groups welcomed the Chief Guest and other college staff in the different ways highlighting the culture of Jammu and Kashmir.
Students of various groups presented colourful and cultural items based on different themes including culture dances, display of beauty of J and K, plays, solo songs and Rangolis. They also displayed their different talents and made the whole event highly enjoyable and full of fun.
In the closing ceremony, the College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Ajeet Angral highlighted the importance of organising such cultural items for preserving and enriching our cultural heritage for the new generation. He gave emphasis to students’ cooperation and whole hearted efforts for ensuring quality in our education system. Moreover he added such activities to remain continued for the upcoming sessions also.
The jury members for all the events were Dr. Raj Singh Naranian, Prof. Anju Bala and Dr. Sindhu Kapoor who observed all the events keenly and made wise decisions.
