Ganga provides cash assistance to Pak shelling victims

SAMBA: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash on Tuesday gave Rs 10,000 cash assistance to families of each of the six victims killed in recent cross border shelling in Ramgarh. He also disbursed Rs 10,000 to each of the nine injured persons.
He also distributed Rs 30,000 compensation for individuals whose animals got perished in recent shelling. The minister informed that Rs 5 lakh compensation shall be given to kin of killed civilians and directed DC Samba to submit case in this regard. He directed administration to take suitable measures in the context of the present situation where inhabitants of large number of villages on border areas have been temporarily evacuated.
Meanwhile, Ganga also felicitated the meritorious students of Government Higher Secondary School Jakh. CEO Samba O.P Bhagat, Principal, Higher Secondary School Jakh, Pradeep Gupta, parents and prominent members of the society were present on the occasion.
The students who received cash prizes included Priyanka Devi, Aman Knathia who secured 87 per cent and 83 per cent marks in Senior Secondary School examination and Komal Sharma, Vivek Dabgotra who secured 86.6 per cent and 84 per cent marks in Higher Secondary School examination respectively.
