VIJAYPUR: Former Minister and MLA, Chander Prakash Ganga, on Thursday inaugurated bio toilet community sanitary complex constructed with Rs. 1.50 lakh under DRDO at Vijaypur.
Meanwhile, the MLA also distributed Rs. 24 lakh among 200 beneficiaries for construction of individual household latrine units at Ramgarh.
Later, the MLA also attended an awareness camp organised by the Rural Development Department at Block Headquarters Ramgarh to raise awareness among the rural masses about the importance of a hygienic and healthy lifestyle for which the department has launched a number of welfare and development programmes. He said that open defecation not only leads to several diseases but it also demoralises the very ethos of a civilised society. Besides, such practices also set a bad example for coming generations, he added.
He said the state administration is committed to create better infrastructural facilities in every nook and corner of the State under a well-knit development programme. He also referred to the recent innovative measures announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi which envisages holistic development of all regions and all important public sectors. He said within next couple of years the State would witness hub of developmental activities and there would be total transformation of Jammu and Kashmir on development point of view.
