JAMMU: Gandhi Nagar Zone boys showed their complete domination winning all three titles of Badminton (Under-14, Under-17) and Basketball (Under-14) in the inter-zone district level competitions of Jammu being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at MA Stadium, here today.
In Badminton under-17 category, Gandhi Nagar Zone boys trounced Jammu zone 2-0 while in under-14 category, again Gandhi Nagar trounced their counterparts from Jammu Zone 2-0.
In Under-14 Basketball, Jammu Zone defeated Satwari Zone 22-16 to emerge Jammu district champion. Earlier, in the semifinals, Gandhi Nagar beat Zone Akhnoor 20-05 in an easy encounter and Zone Satwari outplayed Zone 22-02.
Later, Deputy Director (Planning) of the DYSS, Ravi Sharma presented the title trophies and other individual prizes to the winner and runners-up teams. Among others present were Saleem-Ur-Rehman (Activity Incharge), Yash Paul Sharma and Subash Chander.
