POONCH: National Yuva Cooperative Society (NYCS) shall be holding district level trials to pick up talented athletes at Sports Stadium Poonch on 24th December from 9:00 AM onwards. The GAIL India sponsored activity is pan India athletic talent scouting for Olympics 2020 and 2024. “As part of the ongoing selection process, the Poonch District will be third district in Jammu and Kashmir after Kishtwar and Kathua where trials are being conducted to tap the hidden talent among the State boys and girls,” said State Representative of the NYCS, Opinder Sharma. During this day-long trial, the athletes will be put under test following the already given timings in 100 meters and 200 meters track events, he maintained.
