SRINAGAR: MLA R.S Pura Dr. Gagan Bhagat on Monday sought Municipal Committee for Miran Sahib and upgrading status of the Municipal Committee of R.S Pura comprising 13 wards to Municipal Council comprising 17 wards. He raised these demands while speaking on the demands for grants of the Power Development Department (PDD) and Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD). Claiming that condition of local Bus Stand at R.S Pura is dismal, he demanded its immediate up-gradation and also sought construction of bus stands on Satwari-R S Pura route with public convenience and drinking water facilities for the commuters especially women and children. He pointed out that onus of providing these facilities also lies on the shoulders of Speaker Legislative Assembly since he is the elected representative of Gandhi Nagar constituency and major part of the aforesaid route comes under this constituency’s realm. Gagan thanked Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh for providing Rs. 42 lakh for improving the drainage system of R.S Pura municipal wards, which he had demanded in the recently held DDB meeting at Jammu.
