Dear Editor,
How pragmatic is it for countries to stockpile fuel for future needs especially as such hoarding, whether strategically regulated or otherwise, could create a shortage in the present? Thousands of crores of rupees being spent by relatively less developed countries, including India, in this mission can be better spent on R and D of renewable energy. Stockpiling could also be one way where the developed countries have a hold on the global economy by hoarding huge reserves of an essential commodity.
