JAMMU: In a powerful and inspiring initiative, the Artillery Regiment of the Indian Army organized a motivational lecture session for the students of JK Public School, Kunjwani. The primary aim of the event was to raise awareness among the youth about the various opportunities and procedures to join the Indian Army.

The occasion was graced by Shashi Chaudhary, Director JK Educational Society; Principal Rajesh Rathore and School Coordinator Ms. Inderjeet Kaur alongwith teachers and students of the Senior school (IX-XII).
The session began with an engaging talk by Lieutenant Surya, who emphasized the core values of honesty and integrity essential for every Army personnel. He offered an insightful glimpse into the rigorous life of cadets at the training academy, highlighting the discipline and resilience expected of future officers. Lt. Surya guided students preparing for the NDA exam, stressing the importance of consistency, physical fitness, strong communication skills, and unwavering motivation. To further inspire, he spoke about the various benefits of joining the Indian Army, including medical care, housing facilities, and career growth. He urged students to reflect on their aspirations and envision their future with purpose.
Following this, Lieutenant Megha delivered an empowering message, particularly for the girls in the audience. She spoke about untapped potential and the strength within every girl waiting to be unleashed. Sharing her personal transformation journey, Lt. Megha encouraged young women to consider a career in the armed forces. She informed students that girls are now eligible to join the NDA after Class 12, and for those applying post-graduation, the CDS exam is the gateway. She emphasized the need to strengthen English proficiency and general knowledge. Lt. Megha also shed light on alternative entry routes, such as through NCC ‘C’ certificates, engineering degrees, and law qualifications. Her presentation, which included visuals of military academies and training camps, ignited a spark in many young hearts.
The final session was led by Lt Col Ankit, who shared powerful anecdotes from his own military journey. He spoke passionately about the values of selflessness and diligence, drawing from real-life experiences that deeply resonated with the students. An interactive Q&A followed, allowing students to clarify their doubts and gain deeper insights.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Rajesh Rathore, Principal, JK Public School, Kunjwani. He expressed his deep gratitude to the Indian Army and the officers for their enlightening and inspiring presence. He said, “This session has indeed opened up new horizons for our students and inspired them to consider a future in service of the nation. We are truly grateful for this meaningful initiative, and we look forward to availing more such opportunities to connect with the brave men and women of our armed forces. Your words not only shed light on the avenues available to join the Indian Army but also ignited in our students a sense of purpose, discipline, and patriotism”. The event left a lasting impression on the students, igniting a strong sense of patriotism and a desire to serve the nation. It served not just as a career guidance session, but as a call to a noble and honorable path.
