Fulfill demands of Safaikaramcharis: CSKU

JAMMU: President, Civic Safai Karamchari Union (CSKU), Rinku Gill, stated that number of times they met Municipal Commissioner and submitted their demands but no positive action has been taken by JMC administration.
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Gill said, “On 19th July 2016 the Safaikaramcharis working in JMC protested against the Commissioner of JMC for suspending permanent Safaikaramcharis and terminating the casual labour and NGO Safaikaramcharis who were serving in JMC for the last 6-7 years.” “Earlier in the month of May, on the assurance of JMC authorities that our demands of re-orginsation of JMC and promotion of NGO Safaikaramcharis into casual labourer will be settled, we suspended our strike” Ranku said adding that after the expiry of over two months no action was taken over the ultimatum till date. Rinku stated that Safaikaramcharis don’t want to take any action right now because of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra. He appealed to the Government of J and K and Municipal Administration to solve their issues otherwise they would intensify their agitation.
Manga, Gulzar Masih, Jyolas, Rajinder, Jang Bahadur, Kulvinder, Ashwani, Bagicha, Rakesh, Rajesh, Sonu, Vicky Lawrence, Koushalya, Pooja, Neelam, Kirna, Parveen, Sheela, Geeta, Raj Rani, Shobha and Anita were also present in the press conference.
