JAMMU: “Mistakes are not failures, but stepping stones to success.” With this profound opening line, Aradhya Singh of Grade VII Pearl, along with her classmates, conducted an enlightening morning assembly on the theme “Mistakes help us evolve” at JK Public School, Kunjwani.
Aradhya, in her confident address, emphasized, “Every error we make is an opportunity to grow. It is through our mistakes that we discover our strengths and weaknesses and develop the resilience and perseverance needed to overcome challenges. As we move forward in life, we must not fear mistakes, but welcome them as valuable lessons that shape us into better versions of ourselves.”
Adding depth to the discussion, Kashvi remarked, “A mistake is not a failure; it’s raw material-an unpolished first draft of a solution that shows where to begin building a masterpiece. Don’t erase your mistakes; analyze them.”
The momentum grew stronger as Manya observed, “Every error is a directional guide highlighting the path you won’t take again. You cannot draw a perfect line until you know what a crooked one looks like. Remember, the person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”
The assembly resonated with poetic rhythm when Shivansh recited an insightful poem capturing the spirit of learning through errors:
“For failure marks
the boundary line,
Between the reckless
and the design.
The error made is
knowledge bought,
A truth the classroom
never taught”.
Further enriching the reflection, Kavya continued the verse:
“The missing part
of the waking dreams,
The blueprint now
correct and whole;
A deep wisdom
for the soul,
For every misstep
is a guiding star,
Revealing truly
who you are!”
Under the segment Quotations, students presented powerful thoughts from great minds: Jasleen Kour quoted Oscar Wilde: “Experience is the name we give to our mistakes.”
Pratham cited Marva Collins: “If you cannot make a mistake, you did not make anything.”
Laksh shared Paulo Coelho’s wisdom: “The mistake that makes you humble is better than an achievement that makes you arrogant.”
Ayra Singh recalled Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam: “Mistakes increase your experience, and experience decreases your mistakes.”
Madhav Khokher quoted Jennifer Lim: “Mistakes are proof that you are trying.”
Prabh Simran referred to Winston Churchill: “Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.”
Aarav Sinha echoed Henry Ford: “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”
Applauding the presenters, Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore addressed the assembly with a stirring message: “Each one of us, no matter how wise or experienced, has stumbled at some point. Mistakes are not marks of failure; they are milestones on the road to growth. Every time you make a mistake, you learn something new – about yourself, your effort, and your direction. The only real mistake is the one you refuse to learn from”.
“Let us promise ourselves today that we will never allow fear of failure to hold us back. We will experiment, explore, and evolve – because the path to excellence is paved with the bricks of our own mistakes, polished by perseverance and reflection. Keep learning, keep trying, and keep growing – for every misstep you take today is a stepping stone to the success story you’ll write tomorrow.”
The assembly concluded with resounding applause, leaving every student inspired to embrace imperfection as a part of their journey toward excellence.
