Friends Club lifts Gufran Championship

DODA: Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Ghat lifted the title trophy of All India 12th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2016 by thrashing Raina Cricket Club (RCC) Bhadarwah by six wickets in the final match held at Sports Stadium Doda, here on Friday.
The tournament was organised by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by J and K Police, J&K Bank and Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
Earlier, RCC Bhadarwah, batting first after winning the toss, made 152 runs for the loss of ten wickets in 19.4 overs. Satish top played a knock of 62 runs followed by Vishwajeet who added 33 runs to the total. For FCC Ghat, Kartik and Rahul Sharma shared three wickets each.
In reply, guided by the brilliant and match winning inning of 88 runs FCC Ghat chased the target in 15.4 overs for the loss of four wickets. Gourav Gambhir contributed 32 runs. For RCC Bhadarwah, Satish scalped two wickets while Rohit Sharma took one.
Hardeep Singh was declared as Man of the Match for his best batting performance while Aamir Wani of Everest Bhalessa was declared as Man of the Series who was given cash prize of Rs 5,000.
The final match was officiated by Munish Zutshi, Bharat Jajuriya, Waseem Raja and Ashok Sharma.
In the closing ceremony, former Ministers Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy and Ab Majid Wani, DC Bhupinder Kumar and SSP Doda Zahid Manhas were the Special Guests who Doda gave away trophy and cash prize of Rs 1 lakh to winner FCC Ghat team while Commanding Officer Rashriya Rifles Bn Doda gave away trophy and cash prize of Rs 50,000 to runner up RCC Bhadarwah team.
The guests congratulated the winners over their magnificent win, described the Gufran Tournament as a land mark step towards promoting cricket in the Chenab Valley.
