Freedom Fighters Association remembers martyrs

JAMMU: J and K Freedom Fighters Association remembered martyrs and the freedom fighters, who sacrificed life for motherland, on the birth anniversary of Jhansi Ki Rani, Maharani Luxmi Bai and the first woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, in a function held at Indira Chowk, here on Wednesday.
The function was organised by the President of the Association Ved Gandotra and chaired by the Chairman of the Association B.L Gupta.
State Youth Vice President Congress, Pranav was the Chief Guest. Floral tributes were paid to the great personalities.
Gupta and Rajesh Dewan threw light over the life history of freedom fighters and remembered their deeds and their love for the motherland.
They remembered Netaji Subash Chander Bose, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Chander Shekhar Azad, Tatya Tope and Mangal Pandey and said that their sacrifice and their long struggle made it possible that we were respiring in the air of free India.
They exhorted the womenfolk to come forward and jointly fight the menace of dowry and other social evils and asked them to strongly resist the killings of female-child foetus and join the movement Save-Girl.
The prominent who spoke on the occasion were RK Anand, T.R Dogra, Rajinder Bhagat, Narayan Dass, Tarun Gutpa, Prem Lata Sehgal and Faqir Chand Sehgal.
