Free winter coaching concludes at Gya-Miru

LEH: During winter vacation of schools, voluntary associations at village levels in Ladakh have started free coaching to students in different fields. One such was the 17-day winter training course conducted for the youth of Gya-Miru by President Youth Association Gya-Miru that concluded on Thursday at Gya with a grand concluding ceremony.
According to President Youth Association Gya-Miru Rigzen Mingur, this was the first time such training course to the youth of remote villages was conducted and during the course number of trainings like personal development, English speaking course, cultural programme and awareness of importance of education have been given besides imparting them coaching in Ice hockey.
Executive Councillor for Education, LAHDC, Leh Dorjay Motup was the Chief Guest while Councillor lgoo Tsering Paldan was the Guest of Honour. Representatives from Dayangs Tsogspa, Nature Conservation Society and SAVE Nyoma were also present besides residents from Gya, Meru, Sasoma and Rumtse.
Dorjay Motup appreciated the contribution of youth associations in providing coaching to the students and expressed that such coaching at village levels by the villagers and voluntary associations have become important today. Motup assured LAHDC’s full support for development of education and requested parents to send their children to the government schools. He also assured repair to school building and construction of an Ice Hockey Rink.
A colourful cultural performance was also presented by the students.
