JAMMU: Four Women Police Stations recently created by the government would function from 15th May 2016. These police stations would be set up at Anantnag, Baramulla, Rajouri and Udhampur.
Orders for deployment of manpower and terms of reference of these police stations were issued today by the Director General of Police, K. Rajendra Kumar.
It may be recalled that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, the State Cabinet in its first meeting had decided setting up of four Women’s Police Stations in the State to provide grievance redressal to women in their respective areas close to their homes. So far two women police stations are working at Jammu and Srinagar cities.
