JAMMU: Vigilance Organization on Wednesday booked the then State Project Director, SSA on the basis of verification conducted into alleged corruption charges.
During Joint Surprise Check conducted by Vigilance Organization into the allegations of adjustment of Murtaza Hussain against the post of System Analyst in the Directorate Office of the Sarva Shiksha Abhyan in violation of Government Order and having drawn arrears/salary in his favour which amount loss to the State Exchequer by abuse of official position by the then Director SSA, it was found that the then State Project Director, SSA vide Society order No. 146 Ujala of 2010 dated 28th May 2010 ordered that Murtaza Hussain who has been placed/adjusted against the post of Assistant Programmer vide Govt. Order No. 331-Edu of 2007 dated 24th September 2007 shall be paid the salary attached to the post of System Analyst retrospectively with effect from July 2009.
The order has been issued by the then Director SSA with ulterior motives/criminal attention as it being beyond his authority and in total violation to aforesaid Government order whereby sanction was accorded only to the adjustment/placement of Murtaza Hussain Mir as Assistant Programmer SSA working in the office of Chief Education Officer, Anantnag against the post of System Analyst in the State Project Directorate of SSA on the terms and conditions as laid down in the initial engagement order as Assistant Programmer purely on contractual basis at the consolidated amount of Rs. 6000 per month vide order No. 101/B-Ujala of 2004 dated 1st June 2004, thereby causing a loss to the tune of Rs. 3,67,908 from December 2009 to March 2014 to the State Exchequer by the then State Project Director, SSA.
As such, Case vide FIR No. 24/2016 was registered in Vigilance Organization, Jammu at Police Station VOJ under Section 5(2) P.C Act 2006 read with Section 120-B RPC on the prima facie establishment of offences on the part of the aforementioned accused public servant the then State Project Director, SSA.
