Former minister’s vehicle stolen, recovered

Lifter arrested; 2 cops suspended

JAMMU: The TATA Safari of former Minister and MLA Surjit Singh Slathia, stolen from outside his residence on Saturday evening, has been recovered within an hour from Raya Morh. Two cops posted at the house of the former minister have been placed under suspension.
SHO Vijaypur Ajay Singh, acting on the alert from PCR Jammu, intercepted the stolen vehicle at Raya Morh Vijaypur during a Naka.
The vehicle lifter, identified as Imamuddin, son of Nizamuddin, resident of Ratanpura Kalan Bilari Moradabad Uttar Pradesh has been arrested and TATA Safari (JK02AL-0234), was recovered from his possession.
The white coloured Tata Safari (JK02AL-0234) was stolen from outside the minister’s residence at Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Head Constable Karnail Singh and Constable Darshan Kumar, both deployed at the house of former minister, have been placed under suspension as the car was stolen from the minister’s house.
