Former Mayor Jammu lauds outgoing CS for positive changes in J&K

JAMMU: The former Mayor of JMC, Rajinder Sharma on Thursday said that the former Chief Secretary (CS) of J&K, Arun Kumar Mehta, during his tenure, took several revolutionary steps under the statesmanship of LG Manoj Sinha in the J&K UT, the results of which would soon be visible on ground after some time.
“One of the biggest contribution of the former CS is that he ensured proper and timely budget allocation for giving boost to developmental works in J&K,” the former JMC Mayor said, while adding, “the former CS was a visionary and a warrior who streamlined the revenue services and things have started moving in right direction”. The people may be facing inconvenience in availing online services that have been recently initiated as we are not used to it but soon transparent and accountable administrative delivery system will be in place as more than 1000 services are available on line, former JMC Mayor said.
Although, it will take some time, “but things have started moving in right direction due to the dedicated efforts of former CS Arun Mehta”.
The law and order situation in J&K has also improved due to the decisions taken by the former CS Mehta, the former Mayor said. The results of the steps taken by the former CS will be visible on ground after some time as he also ensured accountability and responsibility. In 2018-19 expenditure was Rs 8482 crores for J&K and projects executed were 9229.After E- tendering it showed remarkable changes and in 2022 -23 with expenditure of Rs 10634 crores projects executed were 92648.This happened only because of the initiation of E- Tendering process. J&K achieved 2nd position in online services as we have more than 1000 online services second to Tamil Nadu, the former Mayor said, while attributing it to the former CS.
