Former DyCM demands compensation to families of deceased

JAMMU: Expressing his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives due to electric shock during farming in the villages of Chhamb Constituency of Pargwal Tehsil of Jammu District, the former Deputy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader, Tara Chand on Tuesday urged the authorities to adequately compensate the victim families and ensure proper safety measures in border villages to avoid any recurrence in future.
After visiting the villages of Pindi, Rajpura and Fakwari in Pargwal Tehsil to pay condolences to the families of victims, Tara Chand said that it was unfortunate that the three people (Babu Singh, Ashok Kumar and Balbir Singh) lost their lives and another was injured due to electric shock while planting paddy saplings in their field. He regretted that authorities had not taken proper measures to ensure the safety of the villagers.
Asking the State Government to adequately compensate the families, former DyCM also sought a government job for the kins of the victims.
Besides, the government should also take proper measures so that such incidents do not take place in border villages in future during farming period.
