Former Com Secy GA Peer passes away

SRINAGAR: G A Peer, a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and former Commissioner Secretary to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, passed away in Srinagar on Sunday following a brief illness.

A native of Seer Hamdan in Anantnag district, Peer’s demise has left a void in the administrative and civil society circles of the region.
STATE TIMES condoles the demise of G A Peer, an officer of integrity and devotion. He worked selflessly for the needy and served the administration in many important positions with honour and commitment. His work focused on uplifting the underprivileged and ensuring effective governance.
Minister for Agriculture Production Department, Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj , Javid Ahmad Dar also expressed grief over the demise of G A Peer.
In a condolence message, the Minister prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss.
“Saddened to hear about the passing away of the former Commissioner Secretary, G A Peer. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members”, said Javid Dar.
Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of G.A. Peer.
In his condolence message, the Chief Secretary described Peer as a committed and principled officer who served J&K with distinction and dedication throughout his illustrious career.
His contributions to public service and governance in J&K have left an enduring legacy. He will be remembered for his integrity, professional competence, and calm demeanour, Atal Dulloo said.
Extending his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Chief Secretary prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the family members to bear this irreparable loss.
