Ford plans to offer a new advanced touchscreen infotainment system for its future range of cars considering the huge demand for the touchscreen system among the car buyers. The new infotainment system is likely to be introduced in the facelifted versions of its Figo and its sibling Aspire which are expected to be launched in 2018.
So, the upcoming Figo siblings will get a completely redesigned dashboard as the entire centre console has to be reworked due to the lack of touchscreen system even in the top-end variants of the current models. Definitely, this new installation will be a great task for the Ford Engineers. The design cues could be borrowed from the Ford C-Max or Focus.
Currently, a SYNC 1 non-touchscreen infotainment system with a 4.2-inch multi-function display is only available in the Figo and Aspire models. It is unknown that whether Ford will offer the SYNC 2 system of the new Endeavour or an all-new infotainment design system for both the cars. However, this positive move by Ford will make its cars to be a tough competitor to similar other cars in the segment featuring touchscreen system.
