JAMMU: Jammu Justice Secular Forum (JJSF) has described the orders of the Governor to army to vacate the land before 31st March at the behest of Central Government as an extremely serious development which can demoralise the security operations in the entire State.
Addressing a press conference here today, JJSF President Pushvinder Singh said that the people of State are surprised that the Governor has chosen one of the foremost objectives of PDP and separatist establishment of evicting army from the Jammu and Kashmir by denying renewal of lease to army for their encampments in the State at various places including 212 acres at Tatoo Ground in Srinagar, 456.60 Kanals at High Grounds, Anantnag, 16.30 acres land adjoining the University of Jammu and land held at Lower Khurba Thang in Kargil.
The separatist establishment has been at the forefront of this campaign of eviction of army and by forcing the authorities not to seek renewal of lease to army they have only demonstrated their power and reach to stifle army presence in the State and this proved that BJP has totally surrendered before the separatist forces, he mentioned.
JJSF leaders said that the campaign against army should be seen in the context of the larger design of separatists and PDP to brand army as an occupation force whereas in reality army is playing the role of saviours of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
“This concerted campaign is a conspiracy against the nationalist people living in Jammu and Kashmir, more particularity in Jammu as they know it very well that all freedoms available to the people of State including the freedom of having a democratically elected government in the State has been a result of untiring efforts of the army and the security establishment, said Pushvinder Singh adding “campaign of eviction of army from the State is a sinister campaign against the nation and part of destabilising assault against the peace loving nationalist population of Jammu.”
He further said that the present Governor has only given credence to the doubts that his appointment in the State was basically a part of a wider design of implementing formula which sought to create porous borders between India and Pakistan and establish a set up based on shared sovereignty with Pakistan.
Meanwhile Dheeraj Pargal, a social activist, said that it seems that the Central Government is creating situation of J and K at par with the situation of territories exchanged with Bangladesh.
By withdrawing army from the State they are handing over the future of nationalist forces in the hands of Pakistan, he said adding that these nefarious designs of Central Government are not acceptable to the people of Jammu as the people of Jammu are nationalists and will not allow anybody to decide their fate without the will of the people of Jammu.
He further said that we have decided to make aware the people of Jammu of the wrongful decision of the government.
