For God’s Sake……………..Please!!

Dr. Nutan K. Rasutra

An Army Officer went to a Doctor and started telling him: “Doctor, I think you should recommend Erythromycin for stomach infections; Azithromycin for viral fever; Cylix for muscular pains and Butazolidin for tooth related disorders. And also; you must conduct X-Rays and Blood Tests including LFT, KFT and CBC before you arrive at the proper diagnosis to recommend these medicines.” The Doctor smiled and said: “Sir, this is the job of Medical Specialists. My advice is that you should not meddle with their job.”
The Officer replied politely: “Exactly Sir, this is what I also want to tell you. Yesterday, I had seen you participating in a television debate where you were vehemently suggesting where to station soldiers, how to make planes’ formations, and where and when to move the tanks. This is the Professional act of only an Army Officer to decide about those strategic moves, and not every other Tom, Dick and Harry!”
This incident does not hold better than in today’s situation prevailing in our country. The most -dastardly act of terrorists in Pahalgam has brought both India and Pakistan very close to yet another War between the two countries. India has been quite patient in giving very long rope to illegitimately- born neighbour country; hoping against hope that it would refrain from her acts of perpetuating and supporting terrorists and terrorism; but all in vain. Now our cup of patience has been filled to the brim. Even Bhagwan Shri Krishan cut the head of Shishupal after one hundred insults and abuses. Now the time to make decisive move has come.
But we find a Comedy -Theatre on our television channels. Anyone and everyone seem to have become an expert in war games. We find So- Called, I repeat so-called General Arnab Goswami, Lieutenant Generals, Rear Admirals, Vice Chiefs of Air Staff; not to name all Anchors (I sincerely apologise from the Forces for using these designations; which I know do not stand for them; but purely in a satirical manner and in their self- imposed roles!) of different television Channels. On top of that, there are certain former services personnel who are designated as the Defence Experts: I do not exactly know what does this term “Expert” stand for. The latter painstakingly try to explain and project various moves of the Armed Forces in a not -yet- started conflict; trying to prove how better they can guide from the television studios what the real Generals and the Brave Men in the field can do !
And I say: For God’s sake; please! Do not become self -imposed War Strategists. Leave the job to those who are actually professionally trained and are much better capable of dealing with the situation at the moment. I am fed up with the rhetorics “Ab ki Baar; Navy Ka Vaar!”
My humble appeal to one and all is: when the Prime Minister of this country who, at the moment, is the most burdened and worried man on earth can leave everything to the Great Indian Army by giving them free hand and saying : they are to decide when and what to do; why can’t we? Let us take the situation seriously and boost morale of our bravest and the best soldiers in the world; instead of talking all blabber on channels.
I once again request our all debaters: For God’s Sake, Please!
